At the Drive In

I might be showing my age a bit, but I saw my first movie at a drive in theater last night (This one). It was a good experience; I saw The Bourne Ultimatum and Hairspray. Quite a combination.

The Bourne Ultimatum was very good. A solid ending to the Bourne trilogy. I would have been fine to wait ’til it came out on video, but it was just fine at the drive in.

Hairspray was a musical that didn’t really try to be a movie. Dreamgirls was a movie musical. The acting was good, and the songs typically made sense to the plot. This was purely a musical. The story was fine, but it seemed to be all about setting up the next song. One thing though; we sat outside of our cars and turned up our radios to listen to the movie. This was fine for Bourne Ultimatum, but for a musical, not so much.
